Jacob's Black Bear!! :) 10-8-2011

Jacob killed a bear this evening.
 It weighed 225 lbs.
 It was a sow.
He shot it around 10 yards from his stand with his bow, not far from the house. It only ran about 40 yards.. He made a great shot to the vitals. We are having it cut up into burger and stew meat.

oh my gosh! that is so confronting to me, a city girl who buys her meat at the supermarket. i didnt know people *ate* bear. excuse my ignorance but whats a bear taste like?

Jules..Jacob says it has a taste of it's own..kind of like beef but with a stronger flavor!! lol They eat alot of deer meat also! (A bit of wild game taste.)
