Blackberries, Raspberries and Grapes

I use some of these fresh...the rest I freeze or can and make juices/jams/jellies with.

Our blueberries and apples were killed this year due to the early warm weather and a late frost :(
I will be getting these locally this year..I make applebutter/freeze apples for pies and freeze the blueberries for fruit smoothies,etc :)

Raising a garden-2012 Update

The 2012 main garden is growing well..I will take more single pictures and pictures of our other garden soon and try to get them posted.

Gardening 2012

We have potatoes, corn, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, squash, zucchini, carrots, watermelon, cantaloupe, kohlrabi, onions, lettuce, spinach and chard planted so far..and maybe a few other things that I forgot.. :)
We will also be planting some mustard greens and pumkins later.
The garden is doing well.
We also have another smaller garden planted but the food  has not grown up tall enough to show up good in a picture.
I am looking foward to a great harvest and canning lots of food this fall!

We rotate our crops every year.

Digging Potates 2011

We planted eight rolls of potatoes this year. We usually harvest around 28 bushels..This year we didn't have as many..it all depends on how the weather goes..Glad to have them out of the ground and stored. That takes another thing off of our fall/winter prep list :) Jacob wasn't able to help this year..he had a prior obligation with the football team-that's why he isn't in any of the pictures..lol

 Our garden as it looks now...We are still getting a few peppers/tomatoes.
The volunteer half runner green beans are to the right of the picture and to the right of them is where the mustard greens/lettuce are planted.

After the potatoes are dug and the mustard canned and the lettuce eaten..We will mow/till the garden under for winter. Hopefully to begin it all over again in the spring!
