Still producing..

The garden is still producing..but is almost gone..this is one of the last baskets of peppers and tomatoes that will be harvested..guess I will make a few runs of salsa from it..

A few more grapes..a few more pints of jelly.

We are planting our fall crops now..Lettuce, cucumbers, mustard greens.. I usually can most of our mustard greens from the fall harvest :)
We have been blessed with a bountiful harvest once again.. Fall is in the air and hunting season is right around the corner.
God is good!

Dexcom pictures

We  had  "higher" bg avg.'s last week...Guess it was a growth spurt..
BG numbers are looking better this week... :)

Figured I would take a picture.. lol

With Isaac being eleven and heading into puberty...and all the growth spurts he will be facing, I am sure his bg's will be even more of a challenge...and his honeymoon phase is slowing down.. But we will stay strong and do the best we can..That's all we can do. I am thankful that God is in control.

Freezing bell peppers...

I gathered some more peppers from the garden.. I washed them and removed all the seeds.

Then I diced them into small pieces..

I place the peppers in freezer bags and put into the freezer.. remove the amount I need for chili, soup, baked beans,etc.-then put the bag back in the freezer.I had 5 quart bags this time.

A cure for Emma!! Another book to read :)

Glad to have recieved another book in the mail. I am looking forward to reading it. Thankful that some of the proceeds will go to research for Type 1 diabetes * Dr. Faustman's Lab!!! :)

Another low :(

37 yesterday !!!!!!  (after swimming shortly after lunch)

Isaac had a bg of 35 last week(prior post).... He has never been in the 30's before this!! Hope to never see numbers this low again!!!  :(  Honeymoon Phase..I believe it needs another name! His insulin needs have increased the last month...then I guess his pancreas decided to start working a little harder the last week - so we have raised some of our I:C ratio's.

Football season is in full swing!! Doing bg's before/during/after..going pretty well.

Where is the time going! ?

Thankful for my many blessings :)

Canning vegetable soup :)

We had Homecoming at our church yesterday and I had plenty of beans and corn left over so I decided to add all the extra's in and make a run of veg. soup. I canned 9 quart jars today. I added beans, corn, garlic, chicken broth, cabbage, carrots, onions, salt, pepper and potatoes. After I simmer this mixture in a large canner I put it out into my jars and put the lids/rings on them and put into pressure cooker and cook on 10lbs. of pressure for one hour. I usally make veg. soup from scratch and serve it that day but having some canned makes for a quick meal. When I open a jar I also add some cheese/milk as I am heating it up and serve with cornbread :) It is a chilly day here.. You can "feel" fall in the air..this soup sure will taste good when the snow is flying..
Thankful for all of my many blessings.
